🌈 "Andra tutto bene" -- Everything will be alright. 💚
I wanted to reach out with a quick update re: how Temple Pilates is responding to the current COVID-19 threat. I am closely monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization regarding COVID-19, as well as keeping a finger on the pulse of scientific-based news from a variety of public health experts worldwide.
There's no doubt about it -- it’s a stressful time. So much is unpredictable and it’s challenging to know how to respond appropriately. I think it’s important to stay positive, alert and proactive while keeping ourselves as healthy as we possibly can -- body, mind, and spirit. This means we must keep ourselves strong and keep moving. To that end, I’m hopeful and optimistic that I can continue to offer you options -- both in the studio and online.
Here are my views and plan based on current conditions.
STUDIO WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR NOW + ONLINE SESSIONS / CLASSES OFFERED
STUDIO PRIVATES + SEMI’S:
The majority of classes in the studio are private (1 person) and semi-private (2 or 3 people) sessions. I will continue to offer studio sessions and have spread the equipment to further increase physical space between students.
I will also expand services to offer private online sessions for those wishing to maintain their practice without coming into the studio. I'm in the process of setting this up for several students. Just let me know if you're interested in setting up some remote sessions for yourself.
I will continue to offer Mat and rolling classes in the studio however they will be reduced to a max of 6 people so that we can follow the social distancing guidelines and have more distance between mats.
I will also start to offer the ability to attend mat classes online. Please sign up online. There will be two options… one labeled studio, one labeled online. At a certain point, it may move to online only.
STUDIO SANITATION + HYGIENE:
The studio is following best practices for sanitation and hygiene. All apparatus - large and small - including mats cleaned and disinfected after each and every use/touch. All touch surfaces (door knobs, hooks, handles, shelves, water dispenser, etc) in the studio and bathroom cleaned with disinfectant multiple times per day. Floors are cleaned deeply with a disinfectant cleaner daily. Hands are washed between each client session.
All students who come into the studio will agree to follow the following guidelines to continue to participate in studio classes.
Students not feeling well or having any symptoms of not just COVID-19 but any signs of cold or flu, please stay home. If you think you may have been exposed, please self-quarantine (including if you have someone living in your household exhibiting any symptoms).
As owner and principal instructor, I will do the same and cancel classes. This extends to anyone in my household exhibiting symptoms.
Exceptions will be made to late cancel policy. Don’t hesitate to cancel if you’re not feeling well.
Here are a couple of articles I found interesting and helpful in making my decisions to stay open for now:

I will continue to communicate as conditions progress and shift. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out. Sending my love to you and your family.
HOPE + OPTIMISM
I hope you'll enjoy the picture above as much as I do. Children in Italy are being sent assignments from their teachers... one of which is spreading some positivity and light by making and putting up these rainbow signs that say "everything will be alright'.
I encourage you to find your own ways to maintain presence, light, and buoyancy in this difficult time.
All my best,
